AutoCAD - Copy & Paste

Expert: George Reid - 10/1/2009

Question
Hi,
I have a problem with a Autocad file. Whenever I copy & paste(Clipboard) within this file or from this file to anyother my autocad hangs. Its happening only with this file. I use AutoCad 2008 & my comp is Core 2 Duo 2.53 with 2gb Ram.

Please help me out if there is a solution. Thanx

Answer
Asif,

I have a similar system to you and I'm using ACAD 2008 also. I have been using a lot of copy/paste for some of my drawings and have found that sometimes it isn't hung up it just takes a little longer for the paste to get all the image down. Maybe this isn't your problem, though. With 2GB of RAM it should work well but sometimes the data is a large block and just takes longer to do it. I have a habit of keeping many programs open with their tabs appearing at the bottom, so I will sometimes close some as they are all taking up RAM.

I hope this helps.
