About Bill DeShawn
Expertise I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.
Experience I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.
Publications I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn

AutoCAD - Text not editable

Question QUESTION: Bill, I have been having issues with text not highlighting so you can edit it. This happens to multi-line text, single-line text, and text in the title block. It will simply act as if the text is not there. I can't delete it, and start over, or change it in any way. After going off to work in another drawing, or even another part of the same drawing, sometimes it will straighten up and act right. Not all of the text acts like this, only some of it. And it's always in paper space, never in model space.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
Thanks!
ANSWER: Jeff: I have some ideas, but I need more information. Most importantly, what version of AutoCAD are you running?
Please let me know

QUESTION: Sorry, I didn't think of that. It's the 2007 version of AutoCAD that I'm having trouble with. I've also used 2008 and had it happen a few times as well.
Thanks again,
Jeff
Answer Jeff: Please go to my website (shown below) and click on my email icon and send me the drawing. I can't get the text to not work in paper space but to work in model. So, I need your drawing to work with.
