ANSWER: Hi Issak,

Good question! That little swatch rectangle on the Hatch dialogue box is really a waste of space!! If they had put a preview box below inherit properties on the right we might be able to see what's going on!

You do get a slightly larger view if you click on the ellipses (...) to the right of the hatch name. I am sure someone has already created the drawing that has all of the hatches, but I have failed to find it. There are only ~70 of them, so that would be a great job for an intern or during lunch time!

Now, if you have added custom hatches - that could be a much bigger job, but also one more needed.

QUESTION: Dear Shauna.:
When i try to move text around and locate accurately
somewhere else in the same  dwg there is a blank rectangle
to drag instead of the text. i try  "dragmode  on-off "
but nothing change..
how do i get rid of the rectangle and see text only
for accurate positioning..?

Answer
Hi Issak,

It sounds like Qtext is turned on. It stands for Quick Text. Shows up just as a box instead of as text to reduce regen time.

Mtext will show the box while dragging, but the text also shows up unless it is a huge box of text. We have notes that are in columns across a full page and that will show up just as a box. That should not happen for smaller pieces of text.

Let me know if it is Qtext. If not I'll try and dig into this a bit more for you.

Hope that helps!
