AutoCAD/LINE SHIFT WHEN PLOTTING

Question
Hi there
I have a continous pline (drawn in modelspace) comprising a 3m line and 6m gap (reprsenting a road centreline for 60mph in the UK). In the middle of the gaps I have inserted donuts, which represent catseyes at 9m spacings. When plotting or plot preview, the 3m line and gaps will shift so the catseyes end up on the line and not in the middle of the gap. I have two viewports per A1 sheet and I have the situation where the top viewport will be correct but the second viewport has the shift. Common areas of the pline (either side of a cutline in each viewport) will be different with a shift even though it is the same line! The donuts are not shifting so possibly it is a problem with the pline setup / settings. Thanks for any help.
PS I am using Map2008 but the same happens if I convert back to an Autocad 2004 format.
Best Regards

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
