Question
QUESTION: I am using Civil 3D 2008, and I am also using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to create pdf files, sometimes when I create a pdf of a CAD drawing and using an image it develops horizontal lines across de drawing, and another problem is when using the command Text Mask and when I create a pdf file, when the pdf file is plotted every spot were the Text Mask was used the plot shows a solid black rectangle where ever the Text Mask command was used, can you please help me with this issue.  Thank you in advance.

ANSWER: Hi--

I am going to ask why you do not create the pdfs from AutoCAD --- the issue of whatever Adobe does or does not do is outside my area.

I believe that 2008 included the option to use a pdf printer -- I have a cold today, and my head is thick.

OR MAYBE you meant to say "I am plotting to pdf using Acrobat 9 as my printer selection" -- it sounds as if you are using Adobe to capture the screen image, which is something I don't do.

The horizontal lines sound like a problem with a  setting in Adobe -- not an AutoCAD question.

I looked on the AutoCAD Printing and Plotting forum -- and found this reply on the text masks (wipeouts)..............................

We've had these problems in the past with wipeouts. The files look OK on screen but the wipeouts are blacked out.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat to view and print the files, when you print, click the advanced button and select print as image. The file should print as seen on screen.

This option has sorted various other printing pdf problems from within other applications.
.........................

I hope that helps --if not, write back, and I will look up more for you tomorrow.

QUESTION: I did not explain my self, I am creating the pdf's from AutoCad and using Acrobat 9 as my printer selection, as you stated in you answer, and about the horizontal lines only happens when an image of a detail or a picture is added to the drawing, and now about the Text Mask is driving me crazy.
Thank you.

Answer
Sorry this got lost.
I am now about to leave for the airport.

I thought the tip about "advanced" would cover it -- I do not have Acrobat, and can claim no ability to help with Acrobat-specific issues, except to help you look them up.

Please look here -- and post your question to them, if you dont find that SEARCH gives it to you.________________
