AutoCAD/acad 2002 locked up searching for endpoint

Question
my acad is locked up searching for an osnap on a very large drawing.  Is there anyway to stop this while it is locked up?  this has happened before and it sometimes comes back on its own.  I don't want to end the program with windows because I will lose my changes.

Thanks

Answer
Hey Mike,

I find that tapping the esc key brings the program back to reality.  You might want to take a look at how many running osnaps you have going on that drawing.

I usually only have a few like end, perp, mid, cen, and int going.  With the shift/right click combination to bring up a one time osnap override, there's no need to have a lot more selected as running osnaps.

Hope that helps,

Paul
