Question
QUESTION: I use AutoCAD LT 2008 how I did this I do not know but i lost my main command line, file, save save as  format, tools etc.  I have toolbars available to use but cannot find the the major ones and when I type in Tools as example it comes back as unknown Help please!

ANSWER: Hi Joann,

I think what you're looking for is the bar across the top of your screen.  I'll give you an easy hint to solving your dilemma if you promise not to smack yourself in the forehead too hard.

type menubar on the command line...

QUESTION: Good morning,

I didn't hit myself on my forehead too hard! I had typed menubar on the command line originally and when I did I got the following message - "unknown command press F1"

ANSWER: So, is your command bar back in place now or is it still lost?

QUESTION: Command bar is still lost.

Thanks!

Answer
Hey Joann,

As much as I hate to do it, I'd have to say a Repair is probably your best bet for now.  That should bring your command line back into action.

One last thing you  might want to try is this:

Press CTRL+9.

When you hide the command line, you can still enter commands. However, some commands and system variables return values at the command line, so you may want to redisplay the command line in those instances.

That's straight from the Autocad help section.  I almost forgot some people like to work without command lines.. I can't imagine doing that myself although, I seem to look at it less and less these days.

Let me know if that helps.
