AutoCAD/AutoCAD 2008 - save command disappear
Expert: Bob - 4/29/2009
QuestionHi there
(i apologize for gramatic errors, english is not my native language)
my problem is this: i imported some dwg drawing another company has sent me in my AutoCAD 2008, and ever since my SAVE and SAVE AS commands have disappeared from the file menu
(their icons are also gone from standard toolbar, and i have no way of getting them back in customization menu)
of course, i tried using SAVE by typing it in command line, but ever since that first problem, my autocad has been unable to remember path to folder in which i previously saved my drawing...it makes it very irritating for evry save i make to browse through folders again and again...
(i tried evrything but reinstall)
pls help me
AnswerCommand line: type FILEDIA set it to 1
See whether that does it --- some odd thing in the imported drawings might have changed this system variable.
Write back if this does not work.

SORRY --- I THOUGHT MORE
If, after importing drawings, you are missing parts of toolbars -- either it was something in the drawings, or you did something wrong.
The fact you cannot get them back is strange.
Thus, you might need to to a repair installation --- this will be a choice given via Windows --- you should not need a full removal and re-installation.
Maybe you have some customization that went bad???? Was your installation "out of the box regular"?
