AutoCAD/Font styles

Question
Frutiger 65 Bold... I've searched our fonts here at BART and we don't have Frutiger 65 Bold. Does AutoCAD have a download available? How do you suggest that I obtain the font style?

Answer
Hi Fred,

I just hate fonts in drawings that are not ACAD or Windows standards! What a pain! You can replace it with a nice RomanS, but assuming you don't want to do that I found these options for you.

You can purchase this font at either of these locations:

http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/adobe/frutiger/  ($29)

http://www.linotype.com/469/frutiger-family.html   ($26)

I also read a post from someone stating that this font is free if you download the free Microsoft Reader. I can't vouch for that for sure, but it seems like a good idea to try that one.

Hope that helps!

Regarding the Frutiger font:
In 1968, Adrian Frutiger was commissioned to develop a signage system suited to the architecture of the new Charles de Gaulle Airport outside Paris; he designed a simple, clean, robust sans serif type that is highly legible. In 1976, Frutiger completed the family for the Stempel foundry.
