AutoCAD/Plotting Problems
Expert: Paul Jordan - 4/3/2009
QuestionQUESTION: Hello, I have an EX-ref title block that has an image embedded in it. When I go to plot preview everything looks fine and the image is there. When I plot however that image doesn't plot. Do you have an answer.
ANSWER: Can you go to the file that you're xrefing in and bind the image to that drawing? Also, make sure it's on a layer that's set to plot and not a no plot layer.
Basically you have a nested x-ref and quite frankly, they're a funny lot. Best to take out all the extra levels and make it as simple as you can with x-refs.
Hope that helps, if not, hit me back and we can dig into it further.

QUESTION: If it were on a layer that didn't plot it wouldn't show up in the plot preview. Also if you make the drawing a PDF the image shows up. I believe that the image is already binded to the drawing. I am not the one that created the title block though. Still wont plot directly. Help??
AnswerHi Benjamin..
Short of you sending me all the files so I can take a crack at what's going on, I really don't have any ideas I can offer you.
I can suggest checking out the AUGI.com webside which is the Autodesk Users Group International and is heavily watched by Autodesk techies or, you can check into discussion.autodesk.com and do a search there.
They're both free sites and as an application engineer for Autodesk, I usually found my answers there before ever having to go to the Autodesk team directly for help.
Sorry I can't answer this one for you.
