Question
Hello,
AutoCAD Locks Up when i try to convert a dwg to pdf... the lock up occurs in the plot job progress window.

Thank you;
Tony

Answer
Hi Tony,

I am so sorry for the delay in answering.

The first thing to do is go into the OPTIONS to the Plot & Publish tab and make sure that background plotting is turned off for both plot and publish. It just never has worked well - though it's a great idea.

If that does not fix it, there is a program available from Microsoft called filemon.exe you can download and install it. Then right before you hit the print button start filemon, (File Monitor) it will watch and record every step that your computer makes and you will be able to see if ACAD is trying to find a file or location that is not available to it.

I would try those first and hopefully one of them (preferably the first) will fix this for you.

Thanks,
Shauna
