AutoCAD/Scroll wheel not panning

Question
Hello, the site wouldn't tell me as another follow-up, my mouse is a Microsoft wireless optical mouse 2000, the intellipoint settings are set so that the scroll wheel is auto-scroll, and the auto cad setting for MBUTTONPAN is set to 1. is there anything else that could be wrong? Thankyou

Answer
Michael:  The scroll wheel is supposed to zoom, but pressing the scroll wheel acts as a middle button on the mouse. THAT is when the mouse is suppose to pan.  Are we together on that?  I think we are.  I think by referring to the "scroll wheel" you really mean "Wheel Button".

By the way, I've got this question on the Autodesk newsgroup for digitizing and display.  It's been there all day today and there have been no responses.  This one could take a while.  In the meantime, I would add this to ACAD2000DOC.lsp or corresponding file for your version of AutoCAD (whatever that is - please advise).

(defun c:d (command "_.zoom" "d")(princ))  Learn how to use the dynamic zoom as a substitute for pan until this gets resolved.  Hopefully we can resolve this within a couple of days.

You can also set P for Pan in ALIASEDIT.  No need to reply just yet unless you want to tell me what version of AutoCAD you're running. I'm still hoping to do a follow-up and have something else you can try pretty soon.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
