Question
QUESTION: Hello

I read all you responses on how to type in " setvar "mbuttonpan" 1 " and so on but it doesn't seem to work for me, i have tried changing the 1 to a 0 as some suggested else where, but to no success, any help would be very much appreciated,

ANSWER: Michael:
You didn't mention what brand of mouse you are using, but nevertheless, I'll share this with you.  Recent models of non-Microsoft mice (including Logitech) will require you to use the "Middle Button" setting in the mouse driver software.  Please look for that and set MBUTTONPAN to 1.  After that, things should work pretty well.  If not, write a follow-up to this message, and we'll try again.  Please tell me what brand of mouse you use and always tell me what version of AutoCAD you are running.

QUESTION: sorry for not giving much detail. I have a Microsoft Standard Wireless Optical Mouse, and AutoCAD 2005, I have tried typing " MBUTTONPAN " and then No. " 1 " , but still the mouse will not pan, Thankyou for your time.

ANSWER: Michael:
That is the same mouse I use.  Check the Intellipoint settings to make sure your middle button is set to Auto-scroll.

Let me know how that works out.

QUESTION: the intellipoint settings are set for the middle button as auto-scroll,

Answer
OK.  Double check and answer this all in one message:
It's a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical
Middle button is set to Auto-Scroll
MBUTTONPAN in AutoCAD is set to 1.

All this is correct?  Please double check

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
