Question
QUESTION: Is there a way to retain colors and layers when creating a flatshot?

ANSWER: Hey Tony,

I'd love to be able to help with your question but, I have no idea what you're referring to when you say "flatshot".  If you can describe what it is, I should be able to help.

QUESTION: Paul,
Flatshot is a command that allows you to condense 3D objects into an isometric view.

Answer
Hey Tony,

I'm afraid I'm going to have to take a pass on this one as I leave my 3D piping in 3D when I create isometrics for spool drawings (piping world).  I use Autocad MEP and the flatshot doesn't work at all on the 3D piping and plumbing.  I also tried it on some 3D faces I got from someone using SolidWorks and it didn't do anything to it either.

I've used flatten for many years now and it's always done what I needed it to do but, I can definitely see the value in flatshot.

You might check the AUGI forums and search around there a bit or even post a question.  It's a great resource and I use it all the time.  Another place to ask a question is discussion.autodesk.com.

You may have to end up with a lisp routine to make this remember the layers, flatshot it, then restore the layers to make it do what you want.

Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.
