AutoCAD/Object Snap

Question
I have a difficulty. While snapping on to a object point  which has also a dimension attached to it; AutoCAD sometimes snap on to end point of dimension line which is a little offset from the object point but still within pick box and thus gives a wrong snapping. Is there a way to prevent snapping on to dimension line. Presently I have to zoom sufficiently to get the dimension line out of pick box.

Answer
Ravi:
The DRAWORDER command will fix that.  Type DRAWORDER (or DR for the alias), Select the dimension, and B for BACK.  Or you can send the object you want to pick to the front.  Or tempororarily freeze the layer on which the dimension is placed.  You can even temporarily erase the dimension.  After you have finished drawing to the object snap, type OOPS to bring the dimension back.

Let me know how it goes.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
