AutoCAD/New printer installation issues

Question
I am using AutoCAD LT 2007 here at work and we just got a new printer (faster). After the IT guy has installed the driver for the printer, printing and pdf-ing drawings is a nightmare; for example printing a simple drawing takes minimum 48 sec. The IT guy has installed the printer driver directly to my computer not to be shared through the network but nothing changed. Nobody else who is using AutoCAD has this problem at work just me and just using AutoCAD (any other application prints fine)
Any help will be appreciated.

Answer
Calin:
Often times people check the plot option "Plot in Background".  Frequently users believe that if something plots in the background, it will take less time.  But doing so causes the plot operation to lose priority, thereby processing as is allowed by the processing capacity left over from all the other things you do on your computer.  So it might be a good idea to uncheck that box.

Let me know how it goes.  Use the follow-up option to respond if you are still having some problems with this issue.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
