Question
QUESTION: Respected Sir,
I have a dwg. in Auto cads 2008. But I cant open this Dwg because it is a Xref dwg. is It possible to open? If possible, Please explain me What is opening process of this Dwg.

With Regards
Binay Barman

ANSWER: You should be able to open this drawing.  It's only an xref into another drawing.  That won't affect whether you can open the drawing by itself.  Are you using Autocad 2007 or newer?  If you are using Autocad 2006 or earlier, it won't open the drawing because it's in 2007 format.

Hope that helps,

Paul

QUESTION: Respected Sir,
I have using AutoCad  2008 & 2009 version yet the xref. drawing is not being opened.so how can we open this drawing in these two version.kindly intemate me as soon as possible.

Answer
You need to have the xref drawing on your computer or network to access it.  If a drawing is giving you a line of text, that is a location of the xref, that means it can't find it on your computer in that same directory.  You'll need to open Autocad, open the drawing, then go into the xref manager to make the necessary adjustments to make it show up.

Remember, you need to have the actual xref on your computer to try to open it.

Hope that helps,

Paul
