AutoCAD/Snap ?

Question
Hello Bill,

I am working in AutoCAD 2010 as well as it has been 2-3 yrs since I have worked with the software (prior to that I used it almost on a daily basis for 5yrs.. I was at an average skill level).

In trying to become re-acclimated, I can not figure out why the curser is jumpy...

Initially I thought it was due to OSnap or Snap being on (which I have turned off).. and to be honest I can not remember what OSnap does).

I don't know how to make the curser less jumpy in the sense of grabbing any line near the area I am trying to select.  It takes me a few tries to grab the line I truly want versus the curser grabbing the line it chooses.

Realize this sounds a bit vague, but appreciate any suggestion you can offer.

Thank you
Susan

My first inclination to the solution to that problem would be to suggest that you update the drivers on your graphics card and mouse.  If that doesn't work, you should probably replace the card (or sometimes the computer).  It's always a good idea to see if your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements for AutoCAD 2010.

Those requirements can be found here:

Let's hope that updating the drivers work.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
