Question
Hello Bob,

- 2010
- Interior Designer
- Learned about 6-7yrs ago, however have not used in 2yrs... JUST getting back into it now.

Hello,
Wanted to inquire "how" to fill in walls... to make them solid (dry wall- architecture) for a floor plan.  I have completely forgotten.

Thank you Bob.

Best,
Susan

Answer
Hi--

What you want to do is POCHE the walls -- same term as if by hand.

If you were clever, you drew the walls on their own layer, and made sure all the corners were closed. It is easier to poche the walls in a complicated drawing with other layers turned off.

You want to hatch the walls--- remember how? Look it up in HELP if not -- use the icon, type BHATCH, etc. With 2010, if you have a hatch and color you want to use again, you can drag it into your personal tool palette, where it can be set to always come in on the right layer.

If you had AutoCAD Architecture, there would be a Display Representation to automatically show the wall components, and one to show the walls with poche. Next time you upgrade AutoCAD (unless you are on LT, which is cheaper), go to AutoCAD Architecture, if you like -- learning it will save time later.

Does this help?
