Question
QUESTION: When I list any object in a drawing the command line displays a the information in a bunch of characters that I can not understand. How do I get AutoCAD to display the info in a form I can understand? Below is an example of the response that I get when I list a polyline.

Thanks for all of your help.

Daniel

Example:

          Entity Information
          Entity Information
          Entity Information
Press Enter to continue ... *Cancel*

ANSWER: Daniel:  I need to know what version of AutoCAD you are running and what version of Windows you are running.

In the meantime, I'll look for a solution, or at least a reason for this behavior.

QUESTION: We are running AutoCad Land Desktop 2009 on Windows XP Professional x64.

Answer
This is a very unusual problem, and not one that I can necessarily blame AutoCAD for.  It could be a Windows problem.  One possible solution is a Windows Restoration.  That can be done via the instructions on this website:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084\
and

Another thing you can try is a Windows Repair Install:

Or do what I do and take the computer to a reputable and trusted computer repair outfit to do the repair installation.

Let me know how it goes

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
