When I get into a certain vendors dwg file; my pre-highlight or pre-selection mode runs very, very slow.  It can take up to 20 minutes to perform a list, refedit, explode, etc.  This was not the case with ACAD 2009.  It only happens to us in 2010. I have set my pickfirst variable to 0 and selectionpreview variable to 0.  This helps.  It lists the item in about 10 seconds on mine.  On other workstations it helps as well, but just a little slower.  Are their other settings, variables, etc to enhance this

Hi Larry,

I hate to ask the obvious but, sometimes it works.. Have you tried a purge on the vendors drawing?  Sounds like he may have a lot of stuff in blocks inside it.  

You could wblock the drawing and see if that helps as well.  

Once you figure out the problem, you might let the vendor know so they can correct it on their end as well.
