Question
I'm having an intermitten problem with plotting
3D drawings in paper space. My condtions are as follows:
- Autocad 2007
- Bentley Vision
- Auto Plant
- Each disipline creates its own 3D model (Piping,Strutural etc.)
- create project drawings in paper space
- attach the other disipline 3D models as xref's in overlay only
- attach in my case the electrical 3D model
- create viewport in paper space
- I create my 3d models using AutoPlant Raceway - cabletray or conduit.
- Shademode is set to 2d wireframe however I've tried the other options as well
- Plots are done in paper space
- plot styles are color dependant

Whats happening is the edges of some of  pipes and conduit and things like valves vessels and the sort are not appearing when I do a plot preview. My cable tray however never seems to have the problem. Can you maybe give me some pointers to clear up this problem.

Thanks

Answer
Please tell me what kind of plotter you are set up to use in your page setup in which the edges of the pipes and conduits are not visible.  Go to my website (URL below), click on my email icon and send me the drawing so I can check it out.  I'll download drivers for the plotter and use AutoCAD 2007 to check out the drawing.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
