Question
when I create a drawing in autocad electrical 2008 it always comes up in JIC, I would prefer AS, how can I change this? when I loaded the program I do not recall it prompting me asking which I prefer for default setting.

Thank you

Answer
Todd.  Although I don't use AutoCAD electrical, I researched this for you and found the following solution from "Elect74":

The AS symbol library was available as a configuration option during installation.

You can still install it by using the Control Panel, going to Add/Remove Programs.

Select AutoCAD Electrical and select Change. Then select Add or Remove Features.

Follow the prompts until you get to the Select Symbol Libraries screen and select AS.

Continue the installation process and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, Elect74.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
