AutoCAD/2008lt, Layer problem

Question
I have a layer that is open in model, (not frozen or switched off) but is not showing in paper space or printing. It also doesn't show if I maximize the viewport from paper space. Any advice will be most gratefully accepted......

Answer
David:

All indications point to a layer that is frozen in a viewport.  You can freeze and thaw layers in a viewport (while it is active), with VPLAYER or with the LAYER properties dialog.  While you are in a viewport run either of those commands.  If you use the LAYER properties dialog, look at the columns on the right to freeze or thaw in the current viewport.  Spread out the columns carefully so you can read the headings of each.  Look for VP Freeze.  That's the column you can use to freeze or thaw a layer in the current viewport.
Also, keep in mind that when you are in a layout, you are automatically in an active viewport, even if you're in paper space.  The visible viewports are nested viewports.  Therefore the only place where VPLAYER works and the VP Freeze is not displayed while in the layout dialog is in the Model Tab.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
