AutoCAD/details of residential building drawing
Expert: Bob - 5/21/2010
QuestionQUESTION: afer doing 2d and 3d drawings(i'll do the drawin to exact dimension), i'm not though in layout settings.. is there any tutorial for the refernce?
ANSWER: PLEASE note that it is very difficult to reply intelligently without knowing the AutoCAD release and your own experience, and your profession.
I have to guess that you are a student.
IF your question, which is very unclear, is "How do I set up Layouts?"
1-- read everything in HELP on layouts, paper space, scaling of drawings. Look for the tutorials which are included in the software.
2-- this is at least one chapter of a book, so try to borrow an AutoCAD book
3-- you will get some help by using Google:
try various wordings---
autocad layouts
setting up paper space in autocad
scaling autocad
etc
and look on the Autodesk.com website for tutorials.
I NEVER recommend specific tutorials, because I believe the exercise of checking out several of them will lead you to those which help YOU best. Classes are best, a good book is a minimum, to me.
I do not recommend learning on one's own, because it takes longer and leads to poor habits, meaning your drawings might not be useful to others.
This is really best taught in a classroom, over 2 weeks, but if you must do it on your own, good luck.
If this does not help, please get someone to assist you in forming a question I can understand better, and ask it.

QUESTION: Thank u very much for the information given.. i was very comfortable with AuoCAD 2006. RECENTLY I'M WORKING WITH AutoCAD 2010. Sir i'm basically civil engineer with 6 years of experience. but my work is architectural designing.(preparing presentation drawings, detailed drawings, electrical, plumbing and sanitation drwaings)
Yes the question is "How do i se set up Layouts?"
Sir u wrote about class room coaching over 2 weeks.. Where do i get the training? Are you providing any online coaching?
ANSWER: Hi
You really should look LOCALLY for assistance -- someone who is familiar with the way work is done there is better for you (and cheaper). Search online, ask colleagues. Maybe someone will have an AutoCAD book you can borrow, if you cannot buy one.(does not have to be a 2010 book)
First you should read everything in HELP, see if there are tutorials included in your copy of 2010, look online for free tutorials by using GOOGLE, etc.
It takes time and practice to get layouts right.
I would imagine that there are classes in many places in your country, if you can get to one.
I cannot give that amount of teaching here.
Good luck -- be clever and you will find the way.

Example presentation dwg, working dwg, dooor window details, railing details, staircas details, plumbing & sanitary drawing, electrical layout, compound wall detail etc.. complete drawing set.. can u suggest any website or book any source to study?
pls guide me
AnswerYou want to learn X REFERENCING and the SHEET SET MANAGER.
Each would take a week to four weeks to learn, depending on your present skills, then it will take one or two completed projects until you are comfortable using them.
You might take local instruction for best results. I suggest you ask local friends and colleagues which books and classes they use.
I suggest you look at AutoCAD books online-- this is the 2010 edition of the book I learned from.
