AutoCAD/Area and volume calculations from images

Question
I have never usted AutoCAD but would like to know if I could do the following task before learning how to use it.  I am looking for a programme that can read images of foods taken with a digital camera, and calculate area or even volume from the image.  Can AutoCAD do this?

Answer
LATER --

I should add that if one is using AutoCAD, you can insert the image, scale it to the dimensions you measure on the object, and calculate the area by drawing a polyline around the edge of the object, on top of the image. The area measured will be an approximation, due to the camera lens, not necessarily accurate enough to count on.

Anne, AutoCAD is a DRAFTING program -- more or less an automated pencil.

You want a program that works especially with images (photos)

MAYBE there is a program which is meant for what you want -- it is not my field, so I do not claim expertise in it. Such program (if there is one) would have to get measurements or scale from your input, as camera images do not necessarily have the same size as the real object.

However -- I dont know how you could do volume -- as images are 2D. (and 3D cameras only simulate depth, don't show it accurately)

Someone in the food processing industry might know -- you have asked an Interior Designer.
