AutoCAD/AutoCAD 2010 Paper Space Question

Question
I've been trying to dimension my drawings using viewports in paper space. I basically set up a view port, lock it, then start inserting dimensions in paper space.

The problem is that some setting has changed and now the dimensions read the dimensions of the piece of paper, rather than the dimensions in the drawing.

I've tried modifying the annotation for the dimensions, viewport, etc, but nothing seems to work.

Answer
TC:
It sounds to me like the system variable DIMASSOC needs to be set to 2.  Check that out and let me know how it goes.

TC:  Also, if you are using STANDARD for your dimension style name, you are making a big mistake.  Better to use a name that will be used only by drafters in your organization that conform to a firm set of system variable designed for use by you and your co-workers.  The use of the name STANDARD is used too widely and has too many definitions and causes problem when sharing drawings between department or with consultants.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
