AutoCAD/Gedit 3 error

Question
I'm using Autocad LT 2002, old I know, but so am I! I've used this program for years designing mouldings and millwork for our knife grinders.

I'm crashing showing the "Internal Error: Gedit 3" message. I see a fix for 2007 and 2008, but not anything out of support date. This thing has worked fine for years, now all of a sudden it doesn't. I can't get through a move command without it crashing.

Do you know of anything that will fix it?

Thanks,
Steve

Answer
Steve, I really try to stick to "how to work in AutoCAD", and I don't promote myself as one who has the answers on this type of message.
A search gave me a lot of topics to read on. I quickly saw that it was "AutoCAD and something on your computer not 'liking' each other"  I searched on a site that goes to multiple search engines-- I was not going to bother checking Autodesk for a 9 year old product.

How to sleuth out which of the other programs caused the conflict to begin........ might be easy, might be a lot of work.

This was the best of the short discussions I read:
.....This is a conflict with hardware drivers:
close MS Media Player, update your drivers for ZIP drive or other removable disk drive
The reason can be also in a collision with system software - Intel LANDesk Manager, Unisys AutoMate, Kaspersky or TEGAM ViGuard 2002.

So first, I might do System Restore back to the day before you last installed an updated driver, a new program, etc. -- but that may not be feasible.

You neglected a very important part -- are you using a machine that is newer than the software, and have you installed other stuff, updated, etc (typical answer is yes)  Unfortunately, you know that 9 years in computers is like 50 years.

Again -- this is NOT my area, so dont give me negative feedback.  My point is to get you to be creative in finding a solution.  You could read more of the search results than I had time for.

Or you could buy LT2011, if you are using AutoCAD every day and can't take the downtime to mess with this (or download a trial, giving you a little time to fix the 2002)

I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
