AutoCAD/Scaled Drawing

Question
Hello Bob
I wanted my drawing to have a scale of 1:100 when I print it out. How would I be able to do that?
  Thank you Bob!

Answer
Hi--

A- if plotting from Model Space, look at all the possibilties in the PLOT Dialog box -- expand the box to the right,if that is available.
You need to plot extents or window (usually window)
And choose the scale

This is fairly obvious, if you investigate the dialog box.
The problem is that you may not like the printed results if you have chosen the wrong plotstyle. I cannot explain that here, it's one or two chapters of a book, so at least look online for plottign tutorials, and use the ones that come with AutoCAD under HELP

B- if plotting from Paper Space (layout), you make a viewport at scale 1:100 and then plot full size (1:1).
That is another one or two chapters in a book, if you want to do it well.

SO -- Try typing PLOT, choose the window option and the paper size, then scale 1:100, and see if the preview looks right.  If you are lucky, it will be OK. If it is not, you need to do some studying or have someone local help you.  In school, it takes weeks to get plotting really good.

BOB

PS -- OF COURSE, I ASSUME YOU DREW IT AT 1:1 -- as you should have. If not, you need to allow for the scale you chose, when you go to plot.
