Question
Bill,
I have a vast library of 2D image cells i would love to use
for may 2D color presentations. They seemed to work fine in
DataCad but in autocad the the imports with the white
background rectangle.
Any way of cropping it?

Answer
If the image is a WMF, the background can be turned off with the WMFBKGND command.

If the image is a JPEG or some other raster file, you can't turn off the background.  However, you can do the following depending on the type of plotting you do (named styles or color-dependent styles):  you can change the plotting properties or the color of the image so plot screened at 0%.  That won't affect how the image plots except for its frame.  Do that and the image should plot without the rectangular frame.

Let me know how it goes.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
