Question
A drawing I'm working on has text in section cuts in yellow color. I want to change the color but it is a block. I went to layer prop. manager and changed all colors to red but the text in the section cut is still yellow. I have to explode the block to change the color but then the text disappears and becomes xx. How can I change the text color within the section cuts without exploding the section cut blocks?

Answer
Make sure the block insert is color bylayer. You probably need to "clean" the block definitions. There are routines for this, but to do it by hand you need to redefine the entities inside the block to not have a hard-coded color.  Insert one at a known coordinate at scale 1:1. Explode it, and change everything to color bylayer. Use the block command to redefine it (using the same name as the existing blocks).
Attributes will not update, but it doesn't sound like that is your problem. If you have colors that were hard-coded inside the block attributes, there is a routine in the express tools to update those.
