AutoCAD/"read only" message Autocad 14

Question
Bill,
I can create a drawing file and save it. I can also save it along the way a few times. All of a sudden, when I save, I get the message "read only". I go to properties for that file and "read only" is not checked. I can only save the file by renaming it. I am on a company network and have full administrative control. I've been using Autocad 14 for many years and never had this problem. I would appreciate any help you may offer.

Thanks, Gary

Answer
Gary:
This is the first I've heard about this problem.  However, I may have good news.  I did a quick research on this problem and came up with this possible fix.  If you are opening a drawing on a server using a UNIX operating system, then please check this out:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=2523511&linkID=
Otherwise get back to me with the exact release of AutoCAD R14 you are using, whatever service pack, and how you are accessing the drawing, and if through a server, what is the operating system and version of the server and the operating system and version of your workstation.
Let me know how it goes.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
