AutoCAD/Conversion in Autocad

Question
Hi Bob,
I have been teaching Autocad since 10 years. But I have a problem in converting a drawing made in Architectural units to Decimal and vice-verse. I don't get the actual measurement after changing the scale. Please let me know the actual conversion scale.
Thankyou

Answer
Hi -- As I know it, there is no "converting" involved from Architectural to decimal -- as the drawing remains exactly the same, but the way in which it is measured changes.

MAYBE you mean "convert Imperial to Metric" which requires you to scale up the drawing, or scale down for the reverse conversion. I don't do this everyday, so I could refresh myself by looking in HELP in AutoCAD, before giving it to you, but the number of decimal places needed for accuracy will be different for those building a house and those building a tiny mechanical or electrical part. In my view, you should research it yourself and apply it to your situation

I suggest you use GOOGLE, and read the large number of free articles, to get a better understanding.
I would search ...... AutoCAD Imperial to Metric.... for best results.

In addition, you are not a native English speaker. If you are in another country, local information, as far as precision and how it is commonly done, should help
