Question
I've been working w/autocad for 8 years and have autocad 8. A drawing I got is a plumbing drawing. In paperspace I see the water piping but in model space I can not. How can I fix that? Also, I made a 24x36 pdf but when I print it the scale on the printing dialogue box is only 97%..why?

Answer
Al:
I assume you mean AutoCAD 2008 when you say AutoCAD 8.  I have seen a "crack" version of AutoCAD out there called "AutoCAD 8".  I do not support such versions.

That said and out of the way, are you able to select these objects while in paper space with no viewport active?  In other words are you sure these are model space objects rather than paper space objects?

On print scaling, Adobe reader will do that by default, but if you select to choose paper source by PDF page size and do not use Fit to printable area, but instead select None, that should correct your scaling problem.

Please keep my posted on how it goes

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
