AutoCAD/Jumpy cursor

Question
Hi I am using Autocad 2007, on a Asus with an I7 1.6ghz quad core with 8 gb of ram.  It has a ATI mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics card.  My cursor is really jumpy and slow. Makes it hard to finish my drawings.  I am primarily using it for process schematics.  I have been using cad since R10 and for 2d I am pretty proficiant in it.

Answer
Hi

Since you are a long-time user, I will discount the obvious -- SNAP is on -- and remind you gently to check all the selection and preference settings in OPTIONS, as well as the mouse settings in Windows. All of these can "mysteriously change".

If you poke around on the Autodesk site, you will find ratings of video cards for AutoCAD use.
Even if your card is not well rated (I dont know), it usually lists choices of video drivers for each card: find via Windows what driver you have, and update it to one AutoCAD likes better.

If that does not cure it, go to the Discussion Groups and post the problem. Someone more savvy about video cards will reply

PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
