AutoCAD/.ttf vs. shx font type

Question
I have installed AutoCAD 2010.  In the pass, I have been using AutoCAD 2008, and all my drawings/details have a specific .ttf type files (Futura Book BT).  However, I have noticed that AutoCAD 2010 version is using .shx type files, and when I imported .ttf file, it didn’t work.
I was wondering if there is way I can re-install my old font type.
Greatly appreciate.
P.

Answer
Depending on the version of Windows you have, you may be able to merely drag the TTF font into the windows/font folder and it will automatically install the font.  XP and older versions, require you to use the top menu to install a font after  you place it in the font folder.  You'll have to restart AutoCAD after  you do that.

Let me know how it goes.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
