AutoCAD/Autocad 2010

Question
Hi,

I work with autocad 2007 and starting to work with autocad 2010. I am an architectural tech and have been working with autocad for 16years. I started with autocad 10. I work for a stair company that specilizes in currcular stairs.

My question is:

I recently drew a scrolled handrail in 3D in autocad 2007. When I went to open it in 2010, I saw it in the preview window before it openened and it was perfect and then when it opened fully, one of my forms translated into a big 3d cube. Why?

Answer
Hi --

Sorry, I am travelling and have no AutoCAD this week

First, did you use the new enhanced solids in 2007 to make the object?  The old type might be harder for 2010 to recognize.

BUT-- the first thing that came to mind was that you had a minor flaw in the object when you made it in 2007, and 2010 did not "forgive" the error, so it showed a cube to indicate that it could not read the object properly.
Sometimes, you just have to draw it again! So, sorry, that is my advice,

Bob
