how do i get them to show up?

Answer
Sorry --

I am not doing AutoCAD lately, so I am rusty, expecially on 2012.

BUT-- are the dimensions supposed to show in work view, according to the program, or are you just thinking that they should?

If you have a good book on the program (such as the one by Paul Aubin), you can look up how to change the display properties of the dimensions. HELP should also give you some indication of what you are doing wrong.

Shouldn't you be printing from a layout (or sheet), not trying to print from work view?

This is a VERY complicated program, improved from maddeningly complicated -- and trying to figure it out on one's own is not a winner. If you do not have the resources to quickly look up any problem, (book, classes, online forums, etc), you could get into very deep quicksand.

Hope that helps point you in the right direction
