Question
I've been working with autocad for the last 10 years now. From Autocad 14 to autocad 2012. I'm a interior architect. I create interiors for a different group of clients, mostly business. I'm fully self-taught on autocad.
Since autocad released a mac version for autocad i've decided to switch my PC for a mac. That was the one and only reason to have a PC anyway.
I've installed autocad 2011 on my mac. The interface is a bit different, but nothing serious. I cannot get the scroll button (wheel button) to work as a pan button.
Mbutton is set to 1, i've downloaded the latest drivers for the logitech mouse (M500) but i cannot get it to work.

Do you have any suggestions?

Kind regards,
Geert Willems

Answer
Hi --

First of all, I don't use a Mac. From my moderate previous experience with them, I would be surprised if the scroll pan worked.

I think your question may be for Logitec, but I suggest you first go to the Autodesk website, and find the AutoCAD discussion group or forum for pointing device use. Someone there will quickly know if the pan works and how to do it, or (very likely) it will have already been asked and answered

Good luck -- sorry I dont know, and I am not going to "play hero" by doing the research and pretending I knew already. You can find it in 3 minutes, and have a good place to go for more learning.

BTW - my experience is that self-taught people from R14 are wasting a lot of time unless they have carefully boned up on the new features of newer releases. Years ago, there was a lot of distrust in Autodesk, but folks now really get into using the new stuff

PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
