AutoCAD/ACAD 2000 Logitech wheelmouse zoom problem

Question
Hello,
I have been using Acad 2000 for a while in combination with Windows ME. Recently I have upgraded to Windows XP and after solving all compability problems, I found that there is one problem left: The Logitech Wheelmouse.
I used this mouse in my ME configuration without problems, but with the XP configuration the wheel does not work well. Instead of zooming in/out, the drawing only zooms out. You can zoom in by clinking <<shift>> or <<ctrl>> when using the wheel, but this is not practical. Can you help me to get the wheel working in a proper way? Thanks in advance!

Answer
The problem with the Logitech mice is that their drivers don't work well with AutoCAD.  Switch over to a Microsoft Intellimouse driver for your Logitech mouse.  You lose the Logitech extras, but AutoCAD will run right.  Next time, choose a real Microsoft mouse. (No, I am not paid to advertise for Microsoft)

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
