Question
DOES AUTOCAD 2006 WORK WITH MICOSOFT VISTA

Answer
Robert, it would have helped me if you gave me some background.  If you are a student or a moderate user, yes, it can be made to work.  For heavy production, the AutoCAD is best upgraded -- after all, old softward does not have a "forward memory"
HERE ARE SOME COMMENTS FROM THE DISCUSSION GROUPS----
..........Re: compatibility with window vista You will be able to install R2006 under Vista's "compatibility" mode and suffer through the limitaions you might encounter as neither Autodesk nor Microsoft are willing to fix it. It's not a deal breaker, just an inconvenience, so enjoy and plan on upgrading to R2008 when you can't take it anymore.

..........Re: ACAD 2006/ Vista
Log in as full Administrator in Vista
Start Vista's Help, or visit Microsoft's website, learn how to install old software by using the Compatibility mode feature.
Never log in as anything other than Administrator in Vista
Turn off UAC
No way to turn off warning about using old software, because, well, you are.

I personally would not think of going to Vista while on an AutoCAD release that was not created to run on it.  I figure that after we waited 6 yrs for a new OS from MS, it would be pretty different, Generally, whatever stuff has to be included on new software to make it compatible with old will dumb down the new one.
Good luck. Write back if this does not help.
