Hi Bob,

I have just recently been unable to select several items (individually) to copy or move. I select one object, and when I try to select another object it automatically deselects the first object.  I think I must have accidentally changed a setting...can you help me?
Answer -
Hi -- this is one that tends to migrate mysteriously

PICKFIRST -- I think it should be set to 1. (too late and too lazy to look it up tonight). The other choice is zero --so if 1 doesn't do it, set PICKFIRST to 0.
I hope you have tried using MOVE and COPY SELECTION from the right click menu, rather than typing M ENTER -- I think it is faster.

Write back if for some reason that was not it.

BOB

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the speedy reply...I had high hopes, but that did not work. Any other suggestions?  I also checked my edgemode command.

Answer
Sorry -- then it must be the one I was too lazy to check on last night, as I did not want to open AutoCAD on its night off.
OPTIONS >>SELECTION TAB >> uncheck "use shift to add to selection".  You must have checked it and forgotten you had.
I think typing PICKADD gets you there as well.
I hope that does it!

I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
