AutoCAD/AutoCAD HP K850 printer compatability

QuestionDid you get the HP OfficeJet k850 working w/ autocad?
I use XP Pro, AutoCAD LT 2000 and a (failing) HP 1220c that i've been pleased with for medium format printing. I need a replacement and know there are issues. Would greatly appreciate an answer. Sounds like a good printer if only it works w/ AutoDESK progs.
thanks, mike
AnswerHi Mike, the info below was the thread re. HP K850. I didn't get a respond back from her so not sure if it addressed her pc3 problems.

Hi JB,
I recently purchased an Officejet Pro K850 recommended by other CAD users in a Cadalyst article. After creating a pc3 file to print, I get a "test failed" error. It then continues to tell me "unable to load the device capability to edit this file..." I've tried many different things to fix it with no success. HP even sent me another printer to try. Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for your time.

Adria,
Install an Autocad HDI Driver instead & recreate PC3 file. If still does not work, the System Printer or HDI driver you are using probably does not support the features that AutoCAD needs. Or the PC3 file is corrupt. Try each of these suggestions below until you find the one that works on your system:
* If using an AutoCAD HDI driver, use an equivalent Windows System Printer driver for your device instead. Download and install the newest Windows System drivers for your printer.
* Recreate the plotter configurations by going to Plotter Manager and deleting existing PC3 configuration files and then recreating them.
Hope this helps, let me know.
