AutoCAD/AutoCad drawing tool

Question
Hi Bill, I asked you a question once before. Thanks again for all the help you gave me on that one.
This time my question is: What is the best tool for drawing in AutoCad? I use a wheel mouse. The best thing about it is the wheel is a dynamic zoom and pan tool. Very fast getting around. The bad thing is my hand cramps a lot because I don't take enough breaks I think...
I was thinking maybe a trackball would be better?
Thanks,
Jim

Answer
I'm sorry about your hand cramps.  I don't get them.  I never tried a track ball, but I do like the microsoft Optical Intellimouse and the Intellimouse explorer.  I program two of the keys. One for toggling snapmode (F9) and the other for erasing (delete key).  I do not like to use Logitech, because I end up using Microsoft drivers to make it work like an intellimouse anyway.

If you want a track ball, see if microsoft offers one that may be compatible with Intellimouse.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
