Question
J.B. Borge
I have an on going problem with inserting pictures (jpeg, bitmap etc.) into a dwg file through insert raster image. When I close a drawing and go back to that drawing the picture is there, but if I delete the picture from my hard drive, the pic doesn't come back. How can I keep the pic in the drawing . I have looked all over for a solution with no success. I really would appreciate the solution to this problem.

Thank you
Chester

Answer
Chester,
Autocad wasn't really designed that way. However, there's a little trick i know about embedding images, but with little flexibility. Simply use your default image editor, select entire drawing w/ the selection window, & perform an edit/copy (i.e. 'copy' & paste) so that the image info is saved in memory as an object.
Then, go to your autocad & 'paste' the object from memory. This should embed the image (works very well with logos on titleblocks).  So play w/ the image format (gif/png) & use what ever looks best. Hope this helps, let me know!
