AutoCAD/Autocad Today window

Question
Hi

I liked the Autocad Today window (autocad 2002), I miss the “recent used file” feature, because I use many drawings and it was easier to find the previously used drawing sorted by date and with preview area.
In AutoCad 2005 the Autocad Today is replaced by the History, located in the Open menu.
This History doesn’t sort the files by date and the preview doesn’t work.
It’s possible to have something similar, or make the old Autocad Today to work in the Autocad 2005?

Thanks.

Unforturnately Today has been eliminated.  Fortunately, you found the History button.  In the same dialog, look for a button that changes the views and select the view that gives you the Details of the file.  Then, click on the column twice for the Date Modified.  This will put the most recent files on top.  It does not work as well as TODAY, but at least it's something.  Here's a tip:  Don't open files with Explorer.  If you do, they won't show up in History.  Use File; Open in your drop-down menu for a better record of files recently opened.  Also, when your History gets to be about 3 pages long, delete the shortcuts to within two pages.  Either that or find another size maintenance program that works well for you.  Perhaps cleaning it up once a week will help.  Every time you open History, it creates a new batch of shortcuts in a folder.  If you let the folder go without maintaining its size, it will take seemingly forever to make all those shortcuts.  Be sure to do your mainentance while the files are sorted by date.  It makes it much easier to maintain.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
