AutoCAD/Autocad versions

Question
Can I run two versions of AutoCad on the same computer. I currently have Autocad Map 3D 2005 installed, but a survey program that I used in AutoCad 2000i will not work in the 2005 version.  I need to be able to use this survey program and therefore would like to install 2000i as well.

Thank You
Carol

Answer
Hi, Carol

YES-- 2004 onward install "next to, not as upgrades"  I have ADT 3.3 (ACAD 2002) ADT 2004, ADT 2005, AUTOCAD 2006 AND ADT 2006 on this computer, for teaching purposes.

Perhaps you can upgrade the survey program, as it might have improved over the 6 years, or get a trial of Autodesk's survey to use briefly.

Just be careful that there is not something about the survey program that would mess up your 2005 -- I doubt it.
You can go to the Autodesk website, click on your product and find Discussion Groups to ask ( I am an Interior Designer-- no surveys, just walls and carpet -- LOL)

I love the progress they make with the releases -- but I am doing work for someone who uses 2006 like R13 -- Oh well!!

I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
