Question
Hi
I am an architect and i got windows vista but when i started to install Autodesk Architecture Desktop i got a message of missing file -ADT.cui-
can you tell me how can i get it, and if there is compatible autodesk A.D with widows vista

Answer
Hi -- Sorry, but it is sort of a mystery to me why someone would expect such a complex program to work easily on an operating system that is brand new. I think people often forget that previously existing programs cannot magically figure out new challenges -- you are not the only one.

First of all, I could not help you well without knowing which release of ADT you are using. I believe I read that ADT2007 and MAYBE 2006 will run on Vista if you go to Options (in ADT) and change the support paths. I would not think it reasonable to expect older releases to work, but someone may know ways.

My expertise is more in using the software, while your question is closer to an IT question, sorry.

The best person to help you would be the reseller who sold you the software.

Otherwise, I would suggest you go to the Autodesk website, find ADT, look for support, and find the ADT discussion group. If you read recent posts, I am sure that someone has detailed how to make at least 2007 work on Vista. Then, if you have more questions, post them there, and someone who has actually done it will reply. I have found GREAT help there -- and the reason I doht go there to get your answer is that I dont know your release or your machine's specs.

I have put off Vista for at least several months, as I knew there would be some of these problems.

Good luck.

I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
