Question
Using a Dell 330 Workstation running Win2k SP4
ADT 3.3 SP2

Hi Bill,

I am asking for help because I saw your answer to a similar question on the Net. But, my situation is a bit different. I have been using the bearings.lsp routine for several years without problem. It is a very useful item for my work. All of a sudden, though, I can no longer run the routine. Every time I try to select lines, the routine crashes ADT with an access violation error. Everything works fine up to the point where I select lines. As soon as I hit Enter, ADT crashes. As a sidenote, I have another identical ADT setup on another machine running WinXP Pro SP2, and it does the same exact thing. Can you give me any help or direction on where to look for help?

Thanks - I really need this routine!

Answer
The name of the author of my copy of bearings.lsp is
;     FRED BERTAGNOLLI
;     745 MAPLE ST.
;     OGDEN, UT  84403
;     801-621-3634

If not the above, try below (no guaratees)
672 Reddington Dr
Redding,  CA  96003-5209
(530) 223-3685

I have ADT3.3 (Win2K) to test with and bearings.lsp runs OK on it.  You can give me your email address and I can send bearings.lsp to you (again, no guarantee).  Apart from doing that, I have to idea what to do about your crashing.  You can copy one line of code from bearings.lsp at a time to the command line to try to figure out which line of code is crashing AutoCAD when it tries to execute.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
