AutoCAD/Bluetooth causing issues with ADT 07

Question
I have ADT 07 and when i have either a bluetooth dongle or the factory bt chipset installed in my HP laptop I cannot adjust display properties for an aec object, mainly layer/linetype properties.  If i disable the dongle then everything works fine, even without restarting the program.  The chipset needs to be completely removed and the hardware uninstalled in order for it to work that way.  Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule for my question.

Answer
I did not hear of this problem before, so I shared it with colleagues on the ADT newsgroup.  A well-respected participant (Dean Saadallah) decided to give it his best shot.  He offers the following advice:

"Contact the bluetooth device support, or get another, also
contact HP to see if this is a known issue. Or explain what
HP and bluetooth device you use here and someone can compare with theirs: no issues with mine, but I don't have an HP laptop. Or we can avoid that device.

Typically, unless 600+ other users report this flaw as
crippling ADT to Autodesk and your bluetooth device is the
only one of it's kind, I doubt Autodesk will fix a now 'old' version of ADT for you."

Well, the first part was the help and the second part was a disclaimer, but as you can see, this is not a common problem.  My tendency is to agree with him about the hardware, but there could be a software or firmware solution from the manufacturer of the hardware that could enable some switching of resources for the hardware so that the resources can be shared or switched.

Good luck with finding the solution and keep me posted.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
